Tech Exec

The Tech Exec of the Year Awards will honor Chief Technology Officers or more broadly, those in the top information technology positions within their organizations (CIO, VP, Director, etc.). These valued individuals play vital roles in making Indianapolis-area businesses, institutions and not-for-profit groups successful. Together with their CEOs, their decisions impact all aspects of the business including their company’s growth, profitability, functionality and competitiveness in the marketplace.

Nominations will be accepted beginning May 8 through June 20.


Women of Influence

Women of Influence: Indianapolis Business Journal will spotlight some of our city’s most successful business women from both the public and private sectors while revealing the triumphs and challenges that have shaped their careers. These powerful women will be honored at an event on October 19, 2023, and profiles of the honorees will be featured in a special supplement publishing October 20, 2023.

Michael Carroll

Michael Carroll Awards is given in memory of former deputy mayor and civic leader Mike Carroll and honors a man or woman who has demonstrated Mike’s qualities of determination, humility and devotion to the central Indiana community.

CFO of the Year

CFO of the Year: IBJ‘s CFO of the Year Awards will be presented to financial professionals in Indiana for outstanding performance in their roles as financial stewards of corporations and not-for-profit /government organizations. This program provides many benefits to the business community by highlighting the growing importance of the contributions and accomplishments of financial executives. The CFO award honorees and top honorees will be honored at an event on December 8, 2023. IBJ will also publish a supplement on December 8 that will profile each honoree.

Indiana 250

Indiana 250: IBJ Media—and its brands Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and Indiana Lawyer—are searching for the most influential executives across the state in different economic sectors to name to our inaugural Indiana 250 list. Nominations will be considered in 10 categories and no more than three people from a single organization will be included. Current elected officials are not eligible.

Health Care Heroes

Health Care Heroes 2023: Help us honor the unsung heroes in our health care community. The Health Care Hero Awards recognize individuals and/or organizations in the central Indiana health care industry who are making a significant impact on the quality of health care in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The Indianapolis SMSA includes Marion and surrounding counties, and Madison county. The nomination form must be filled out completely, including a brief descriptive narrative of 500 words or less. Each nomination will be judged on its own merits. IBJ and a panel of health care professionals review nominations in five categories–community achievement in health care, innovations in health care, physician, non-physician and volunteer.

Previous top honorees of Health Care Heroes awards are not eligible for nomination, but previous honorees may be re-nominated.

Forty Under 40

Forty Under 40: On April 21, 2023, Indianapolis Business Journal will recognize 40 central Indiana business and professional leaders. We are looking for people who have achieved a level of success that is rare at a young age. Examples of civic involvement and leadership outside the workplace will also be considered. Each honoree is profiled in a special supplement and recognized at an event attended by members of previous Forty Under 40 classes. Nominees must be younger than 40 as of the April 21, 2023, publication date.

Fast25: Nominate a company for IBJ’s exclusive ranking of fastest-growing privately held companies. The top 25 will be featured at an event in May and profiled in a special IBJ supplement publishing on May 12, 2023.

HR Impact Awards

HR Impact Awards: Indianapolis Business Journal will honor the work that goes into creating a great team at all types of organizations by honoring companies, agencies and not-for-profits, as well as specific human resources people and teams. The HR Impact Award honorees will be recognized at an event on June 23 and profiled in a special supplement publishing June 23.

Twenty in their 20's

On Aug. 8, IBJ will recognize 20 central Indiana people in their 20s who are up-and-coming leaders in business, the arts and culture, philanthropy, and community service. We are looking for young adults who are not just doing a good job but those who are exceling beyond what would be expected at the person’s age. We’re seeking influencers and people who show tremendous potential to be impactful in central Indiana. Nominees must be younger than 30 as of the Aug. 11, 2023, publication date.
